The practice of yoga is an effective way to increase flexibility & strength while toning the nervous system, learning healthier patterns of movement, and expanding self-awareness on all levels of body, mind, and spirit.

Here is Kelly’s current schedule of group classes at Green River Yoga & Movement Arts on Main St. in Greenfield, MA:

For a more specific practice tailored to your individual needs, consider scheduling a private session. For the experienced yoga practitioner, a private session can help you refine your practice, shedding light on challenging poses, and introducing you to more advanced techniques.

For a beginner, a private session gives you the opportunity to ask questions and become familiar with the elements of good alignment, giving you greater confidence during regular classes.

Private sessions are also an ideal format for people who are recovering from an injury or who are coping with a serious health issue. With personalized attention, I can explain why certain poses are particularly helpful for you, as well as which poses to avoid, and we can make modifications using props to create the ideal effect for you.

During a private yoga session, there is the option to create a specific series, tailored to your lifestyle, for you to do at home. We’ll discuss when the ideal time is for you: something to help you start the day in the morning, a sequence to help unwind before bed, a lunchtime pick-me up, etc. It can be as simple as 5 or 10 minutes, or as much as an hour or two, depending on your goals and what fits into your life.

The first session will be about 10-20 minutes longer, depending on whether you have significant health concerns. We will discuss your health history, including injuries, surgeries, and any chronic or acute conditions, and then we will discuss your goals for our work together. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. The format of the session depends entirely on your goals.
